1. It is important to design the positive and the negative shapes of a composition in order to express emotion and can create different interpretations from just a few shapes

2. A representational shape is a shape that you have visual observed. A abstract shape is also a shape that you have observed but you then warp the shape so that it no longer looks like it originally did

3. Emphasis can be achieved through isolation, placement or contrast.

4. An anomaly can attract attention as well as any representation of a human especially a human face.

5. Too many focal points in a piece can cause confusion in the work, the viewer would not know where to look and would get overwhelmed.

6. Emphasis allows the piece to work together and commands the viewers attention.

7. Both a strong focal point and unity are needed to create a work of art or a presentation.
