1. The surroundings of an object make up its value, thus it is relative.
2. A high contrast makes a works readability clearer, which is important to commercial artists.
3. Value can suggest where a light source is coming from giving the illusion of volume, space and depth.
4. There are three different devices to show depth one-point perspective, two-point perspective and three point perspective.
5. A vanishing point and a horizon line must be present in order to understand linear perspective.
6. One-point perspective has only one vanishing point, where as two point perspective has two.
7. one-point perspective is what we usually see in photography, because usually our eyes only go to one focal point at a time.
8. Use depth when you are trying to communicate space, when you do not want to communicate space do not use depth.
